Structure of the site
You can search for amounts per year for revenue and expenditure items as they appear in the preserved sources for the various provinces. All the amounts listed are in the Dutch guilders of the time itself.
Information is available on the site for the provinces of Overijssel, Drenthe, Groningen, Holland, Utrecht, Friesland and Zeeland.
You can search for amounts per year for revenue and expenditure items as they appear in the preserved sources for the various provinces. To this end it is necessary to change to the Dutch part of this web site by clicking on the links available on the left side of this page (Entries, Selected Entries etc.). Only the information to be found under ‘Spreadsheets’ is completely available in English.
Downloading information
It is possible to download the information in most of the overviews and tables. The format is comma-separated values (csv). This means that the columns are separated from one another by commas. The first line of the file contains the headings.
The settings are such that if you have Microsoft Excel installed on your computer, it is most likely that Excel will open automatically, or that you have to open the file in Excel and the information will be easy to understand. Should this not happen for some reason, or if you wish to use a different spreadsheet or database program, you can download the files as text files and then import them into the program of your choice.
