slotnoot: Op 11 aug. seinde Hirschfeld vervolgens onder no 392 o.m.: 'Hieronder tekst van een brief van 11 Aug. van UNCI over mijn brief aan Hatta over de Kortenaer - - - "It is noted that Government of Netherlands intends to consult with government of RUSI on subject of returning HMS Kortenaer to her base and that, should the Government of the RUSI nevertheless continue to object, the attention of the UNCI will be directed to this matter. Commission will therefore await the outcome of consultations between Netherlands Government and Government of RUSI in hope that joint consultations will lead to a satisfactory conclusion." - - - Uit deze brief zal U blijken dat UNCI ons gelegenheid geeft om in overleg met RIS beslissing over terugtrekken van Kortenaer te nemen.'
