Particulars The DRIE PAPAGAAIEN called at Portsmouth (14 till 21-07) and at S. Tiago (24 till 31-08-1758). At Portsmouth 3 seafarers and 2 soldiers were pressed by the English; at S. Tiago 5 seafarers and 2 soldiers died, one seafarer and 3 soldiers deserted, one seafarer and one soldier were taken aboard. The 2 passengers who embarked at the Cape were condemned ex-soldiers; they were transported to the small island Edam off Batavia.
