Particulars The SENHOR DE BONFIM E SANCTA MARIA flew the Portuguese flag. The ship had arrived at the Cape on 12-04-1782. There it was contracted by the V.O.C. According to K.A. 4276, fol. 373 the ship had to sail to Lisbon or to Amsterdam. Its cargo consisted of China tea, carried to the Cape by the HONKOOP (8071), the HOOGKARSPEL (8072), the MIDDELBURG (8073), and the PAREL (8074); in July, 1781, these ships had been captured or burnt down by the English in Saldanha Bay.
