Particulars On 18-05-1795 the HOUGLY originally departed from the Cape; two days later the ship had to return because of adverse wind. In June, 1795, the HOUGLY was captured by the English off St. Helena; while sailing to Cork in Ireland they set the ship on fire and sank it (01-09-1795).
